What do you have in your scanner collection

So, we have radios, some have lots other have a few, let us drool over each other collections of radio monitoring hardware .....

I had one of those "VHF converter" units when I was in my teens, a Fantavox brand.

I recall you put it beside an AM MW band radio tuned to 1000kHz and the converter's dial tuned the VHF air band.

To "improve" reception I clipped an outside random length wire to its antenna, and caused interference to our and neighboring TVs .........

Listening to air band got me interested in air traffic control, later a career in it and retirement after 36 years :)

Ah yes the good old trusty 9000xlt I got given one as a form of payment by a guy in Millicent for programming his 396t handheld in a storage container my very first digital base scanner a 996t base there's also a 780xlt floating around in the car shed that needs cleaning/polishing up i may try and find its power supply as well give it a fire up, did have a 396t but gave it to a mate of mine who set it up for a friend of his as a paging decoder mostly in part due to me having a 436pt handheld
